About osteopathy
Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners.
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs work together as a unit. Using skilled evaluation, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, osteopaths can assess and treat a wide range of aches and pains.

Osteopathy is a very hands-on profession. Osteopathic treatment uses various manual therapy techniques, TSU Osteopathy has a focus on osteopathy in the cranial field (also known as craniosacral) along with other gentler techniques such as muscle energy techniques, mobilisation, myofascial release and more. TSU osteopathy rarely performs HVLA (manipulation), and does not apply this technique to the neck or to those under 18.

In Australia, osteopaths are government registered practitioners who complete around five years’ of university training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques.

Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners and are trained to recognise conditions that require medical referral. They are also trained to perform standard medical examinations of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems.

TSU Osteopathy offers the Perrin Technique™ for people who are living with ME/CFS, long COVID and fibromyalgia. The Perrin Technique™ is an osteopathic approach to treating and supporting the function of the lymphatics/glymphatics (brain lymphatics) and the nervous system through lymphatic and osteopathic techniques.
